Here are some exercises that help you work your way towards the melodic dictation. In “Supply the rhythm” you add the rhythm to the tone row, and in “Find the pitches” the rhythm is given and you add the pitches. Try them to see which are easier for you, so that you can determine how you might approach melodic dictation later in the semester.
